Mobile Computing Communications: William Crawford – U.s. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Inc

WILLIAM G. CRAWFORD recently joined U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Inc. as a Vice President and Senior Research Analyst covering mobile computing and communications companies. Before joining the Equity Research department of U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, Mr. Crawford was the Senior Analyst covering handheld computing companies at Merrill Lynch. At Merrill, he co-authored groundbreaking research on the Internet Appliance category, signaling the important trend toward purpose-built mobile devices and away from the one-size-fits-all computing paradigm. As a result of his work, Mr. Crawford was the only research analyst to be involved with the IPOs of both Palm and Handspring, and he was the lead analyst on Research In Motion's successful $600 million follow-on offering in October 2000. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Crawford spent more than 12 years in the computer industry and most recently was a co-Founder of Netcast Communications Corp., an innovative Internet broadcasting company.
