MICHAEL J. VALENTINE, Executive Vice President of Finance, Chief
Financial Officer and Secretary of John b. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc., has
been employed by the company since 1987 and in January 2001 was named
Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Mr.
Valentine was elected as a director of the company in April 1997. Prior
to holding his current position, Mr. Valentine served as the company's
Senior Vice President of Operations and Secretary. Mr. Valentine
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1981 and a Juris Doctor from the
Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1984.
Mr. Valentine was registered as a Certified Public Accountant in the
