Michael Szycher – Cardiotech International (cte)

MICHAEL SZYCHER, PH.D., is President, CEO and Chief Technical Officer of CardioTech International. He has held several positions prior to joining the company including MA Chairman and CTO, PolyMedica Industries, Inc., Woburn, 1988-1996; MA Vice President R&D, Thermedics, Inc., Woburn, 1975-1988; MA President, Mila Chemical Corp., Lynnfield, 1972-1975; MA President, Converse Rubber Co., Malden, 1967-1972; MA, Process Engineer, General Tire & Rubber Co., Lawrence, 1964-1967; MA, Engineer, Plymouth Rubber Co., Canton, 1963-1964. Dr. Szycher is a recognized international authority on polyurethanes and blood compatible polymers. He is also the author of over eighty original research articles. He was a pivotal force in the creation of the Medical Plastics Division of the SPE. Dr. Szycher is the editor of five books, 'Biocompatible Polymers, Metals and Composites;' 'Synthetic Biomedical Polymers'; 'Blood Compatible Materials and Devices: Perspectives Towards the 21st Century'; 'High Performance Biomaterials: A Comprehensive Guide to Medical/Pharmaceutical Applications'; 'Szycher's Dictionary of Biomaterials and Medical Devices'. and 'Szycher's Dictionary of Medical Devices'. He is Editor-In-Chief of the quarterly 'Journal of Biomaterials Applications'.
