Mark Calvert – Onvia.com Inc (onvi)

MARK CALVERT serves as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary for Onvia.com, the leading business-to-business e-marketplace for small business buyers and sellers. Onvia.com's headquarters are located in Seattle, Washington, and the company's Canadian headquarters are located in Vancouver, BC. Mr. Calvert oversees the company's financial, administrative and operational functions, human resources, implementation of mergers and acquisitions, and develops the processes under which new business strategies are implemented. He played a key role in developing the analyses and business model through which Onvia.com secured $71.5 million in private funding and led Onvia.com's debt placement in September of 1999. He has played a key role in managing Onvia.com's growth from $1 million in revenue in 1998 to over $27 million in 1999, and was instrumental in the completion of the company's recent initial public offering totaling more than $230 million. Prior to joining Onvia.com in October of 1998, Mr. Calvert was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer at Treasure Bay Gaming and Resorts Inc., an emerging market gaming corporation. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Calvert served as Managing Director at Alexander Hutton Advisors Inc., where he specialized in assisting financially and operationally challenged companies with the restructuring and refinancing of debt, raising new equity to expand, assisting with a company's sale or merger, and SEC reporting and disclosure. He also spent eight years at Ernst & Young in the Entrepreneurial Division between 1982 and 1990.
