LAWRENCE HIGBY – APRIA HEALTHCARE GROUP INC (AHG)

LAWRENCE M. HIGBY is President and Chief Executive Officer of Apria Healthcare Group Inc., the nation's largest provider of integrated home care services, including respiratory therapy, home infusion, and home medical equipment. Prior to joining Apria, Mr. Higby was President and Chief Operating Officer of 76 Products Company, the refining and marketing division of Unocal with more than $5 billion in annual sales and 1,800 sites throughout the United States. In April 1997 he led the sale of this division to Tosco Corporation. From 1986 until 1994 Mr. Higby held several executive positions with the Times Mirror Company including Executive Vice President of the Los Angeles Times plus Chairman and President of the Orange County edition. He has also held executive management positions with Times Mirror Cable Television, America's Pharmacy Inc., a division of Caremark, Inc., and PepsiCo. Mr. Higby began his career serving for over six years in the White House during the Nixon and Ford administrations. Active in civic professional organizations, Mr. Higby is currently the Secretary and Vice-Chairman for Board Development of the Orange County Performing Arts Center. He is Chairman of the New Majority, a member of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Homecare, South Coast Repertory Theatre and Southern Counties Oil Company. Mr. Higby graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1967 and attended UCLA's Graduate School of Business. Profile
