John Hammergren – Mckesson Corporation (mck)

JOHN H. HAMMERGREN is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of McKesson Corporation. He has been a director of the company since July 1999. Hammergren was Corporate Executive Vice President, President and CEO of the Supply Management Business for McKesson until he was named to his current position. His previous responsibilities included the pharmaceutical, medical, automation and outsourcing businesses of the company. Hammergren joined McKesson in January 1996 to lead Health Systems, a newly formed business unit focused on the pharmaceutical supply management needs of institutions. Under his leadership, Health Systems revenues grew from $1 billion to $5 billion in two short years. Hammergren has a track record for creating shareholder and customer value. Hammergren served for five years as president of the Medical Surgical division of Kendall Healthcare Products Company of Mansfield, Massachusetts, a leading medical device manufacturer, now a division of Tyco International. From 1981-1991, Hammergren worked in a variety of sales and management roles at Baxter Healthcare Corporation/American Hospital Supply Corporation and Lyphomed, Inc., where he headed a turnaround and sale to Fujisawa USA.
