JAMES MAGUIRE JR. – PHILADELPHIA CONSOLIDATED HOLDING CORPORATION (PHLY)

JAMES J. MAGUIRE JR. is President and Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia Consolidated Holding Corp. Mr. Maguire's 18 year career in the insurance business began as a broker, marketing directors and officers liability, errors and omissions and fidelity products to for- profit, non-profit and financial organizations. He would later join CNA Insurance Companies, Great American Insurance Companies and AIG where he would underwrite and manage various corporate and financial institution directors and officers liability, professional liability and fidelity bond products. In 1996, he joined Philadelphia Insurance Companies as a Vice President of Underwriting. He managed the Specialty Lines Underwriting Division, developing products and rates, quoting and servicing D&O and professional liability business for the middle market segment. In 1996, he introduced their trademarked EXECUTIVE SAFEGUARD policy, a four part policy including D&O, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability and kidnap/ransom coverage. In October 1999 he was named to the company's Board of Directors and promoted to Executive Vice President and COO, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all functional areas of the company. In October 2002 he was promoted to President and CEO, responsible for all company operations. Mr. Maguire holds a BS in Finance from Saint Joseph's University, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is a past Trustee of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and has been an active member and supporter since 1987. Profile
