Investing in Sound Fundamentals at a Reasonable Price
Steven Howard is a Managing Director at Global Investment Solutions, and he comanages the Fundamental All-Cap Equity portfolios and the Fundamental Small/Mid-Cap Strategy for Fundamental Equity Advisors. He has nearly 15 years of investment industry experience. Previously, he worked in Morgan Stanleyís Portfolio Strategy and Research Group and comanaged the Equity Model Portfolios and the Priority Equity Recommended List (PERL) for the Equity Model Portfolio team. In that role, Mr. Howard helped build and manage model portfolios with a focus on risk management and capital preservation. In addition, he provided research and portfolio commentary, authored strategy publications and contributed to various firm publications. Mr. Howard joined the Equity Model Portfolio team in 2003. Prior to his current role, he spent two years managing the Citi Private Client Investment Strategy team in London. He also worked as the Financial Services Strategist for Smith Barney in New York. Mr. Howard attended Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, where he graduated with an honors degree in history. Marshall Kaplan is a Managing Director at Global Investment Solutions. He has more than 31 years of investment industry experience and currently manages the Fundamental All-Cap Equity portfolios and the Fundamental Small/Mid-Cap Strategy for Fundamental Equity Advisors, formed in October 2010. Previously, he worked in Morgan Stanley's Portfolio Strategy and Research Group and managed the Equity Model Portfolio team. Mr. Kaplan joined a predecessor firm in 1983 as a Portfolio Analyst. Subsequently, he created and managed that firm's Equity High Net Worth and Portfolio Management programs and served on its Global Investment Committee and Global Portfolio Committee. Prior to joining the predecessor firm, he spent two years as a Paper and Forest Products Analyst at an institutional research firm. Mr. Kaplan graduated from Baruch College with a BBA in finance and investments and earned an MBA in corporate financial management from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. Profile
