Hank Swartout – Precision Drilling Corporation (pds)

HANK B. SWARTOUT is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Precision Drilling Corporation. He has overseen the company's growth from a small Canadian drilling contractor in 1985 to an international oilfield services company. Precision now operates on five continents and generated revenues of more than C$1.3 billion in 2000. Mr. Swartout's goal was to build Precision into the premier drilling contractor in Canada. Today, the company has exceeded that goal by becoming not only the leading Canadian provider, but also a respected international player at the forefront of today's service activity. Mr. Swartout continues to lead the company's diversification of its products and services and its entrance into new markets worldwide, including the US, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Far East. A seasoned oilfield professional, Mr. Swartout has experience in and knowledge of all aspects of drilling services. Prior to his post at Precision, he was manager of Bawden Western Oceanic Offshore in Canada. He also spent four years as Vice President of Rig Design and Construction for Dreco, and was Vice President of Construction for Nabors Drilling Canada from 1978 to 1980. Mr. Swartout received a Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Wyoming in 1977 and was graduated with honors. He also serves as a Director for a number of other corporations. Profile
