Felix Zandman – Vishay Intertechnology Inc (vsh)

FELIX ZANDMAN founded Vishay Intertechnology in 1962. Vishay, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, is a Fortune 1,000 company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It had year 2000 sales of $2.5 billion and employs over 18,000 people in 66 plants in the US, Mexico, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Taiwan, China and the Philippines. A noted author and innovator, Dr. Zandman has published four textbooks and many scientific papers, and holds 39 patents in the United States and abroad. He has also written Never the Last Journey, an autobiography recounting his journey from Holocaust survivor to Chairman and CEO of a high-tech multinational corporation. Dr. Zandman's accomplishments have garnered numerous distinguished awards, including the Order of Merit for Research and Invention (France), Distinguished Contribution Award from the American Society for Stress Analysis, Franklin Institute Medal for Science, Best Strategic Investor Award from the Israel Manufacturers Association, Legion of Honor awarded by the President of France, and Electronic Industries Alliance Medal of Honor. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and MS in Physics from the University of Nancy (France) and a PhD in physics from the University of Paris, Sorbonne (France). He was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Beer Sheva (Israel) and from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion). Profile
