DAVID S. HAFFNER, President and Chief Executive Officer of Leggett & Platt,
Incorporated, joined the company in 1983. He is an engineering honors graduate
of the University of Missouri, who, upon graduation, moved to Wisconsin as an
engineer for Schreiber Foods, eventually directing all of that firm's
engineering activities. While working there, Mr. Haffner earned a Master of
Business Administration degree, with honors from the University of Wisconsin.
In 1983, he returned to Missouri and accepted a position with Leggett as a group
Vice President of Operations. He has progressed steadily through various
operating positions, was elected to the Board of Directors in 1995, was promoted
to COO in 1999, to President in 2002 and to CEO in 2006. Profile
