David Perry – Ventro Corporation (vntr)

DAVID P. PERRY is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ventro, a leading builder and operator of business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce companies, where he is responsible for the overall corporate strategy of the company. Mr. Perry co-founded Chemdex Corporation in September 1997 to address the inefficiencies in the buying and selling of scientific supplies. Mr. Perry recognized the Web's potential as an enabler to bring buyers and suppliers together in an online marketplace that ultimately led to the formation of Ventro Corporation in February 2000. Prior to Ventro, Mr. Perry co-founded Virogen, a Boston biotechnology company, while a student at Harvard Business School. As CEO of Virogen, he managed all business and financial aspects of the company. Previously, he held a variety of management positions at Exxon and was responsible for the performance and maintenance of a $200 million oil refinery business. Mr. Perry holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa. Profile
