C. Thomas Nulty – Navigant International Inc (flyr)

C. THOMAS NULTY is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Navigant International (NASDAQ: FLYR), a two billion dollar, publicly traded travel firm with its world headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Navigant International is an industry leader in innovative travel management processes and Internet technology. The regional structure of the company offers its customers the best of both worlds, the responsiveness and intimacy that local companies are famous for and the global footprint that supports purchasing leverage, technology development and distribution. Mr. Nulty is a California native with more than 30 years of experience in the travel industry. He began his career with American Airlines where he spent 14 years and held various staff, line and executive positions. Following his tenure at American Airlines, Mr. Nulty joined Ask Mr. Foster (currently Carlson Travel Network) as Senior Vice President of Marketing at their corporate headquarters in California. Mr. Nulty then joined Continental Airlines as vice president and general sales manager at the airline's corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas. In 1984, Mr. Nulty joined Associated Travel International as president. During his tenure at Associated Travel, the company grew from 12 locations with more than 50 employees and $40 million in sales to more than 250 distribution locations with more than 500 employees and $420 million in sales. Associated Travel was sold to U.S. Office Products in 1997 and subsequently became part of Navigant International when the U.S. Office Products travel division was spun off in 1998. Mr. Nulty became President and Chief Operating Officer of Navigant International in May of 1999. Recognized as an expert in the travel industry, Mr. Nulty frequently is quoted in major news publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Lost Angeles Times and The New York Times. He has appeared several times as a guest on NBC's Today Show to discuss the travel industry, airline labor problems and Navigant International's innovative cost-savings computer software program, AQUA. He has been instrumental in promoting stories about the company that have been featured on ABC's World News Tonight, CNN and other broadcast programs. Mr. Nulty attended the University of Utah where he received an athletic scholarship, studied economics and business administration and was a member of the school's varsity swimming team. He served in the United States Army as an artillery officer with assignments as a public information officer and general's aide, achieving the rank of captain prior to his discharge. Mr. Nulty has served as a trustee of the Orange County Museum of Art and has been on the Dean's Advisory Board for the Graduate School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
