Stephen J. Sullivan

STEPHEN J. SULLIVAN joined Xenometrix, Inc. as President and CEO in
January of 1997. Xenometrix is a biotechnology company that genetically
engineers cells with genes that provide valuable information about the
safety and efficacy of lead compounds for new drugs. Previously, Mr.
Sullivan was with Abbott Laboratories for ten years and held a variety
of management positions including Vice President of Worldwide Marketing
for Diagnostics, Vice President and General Manager of the Diagnostic
Assay Sector and General Manager of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology
Business Units. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President for Lyphomed (now
Fujisawa Pharmaceuticals), Senior Vice President and President and the
HealthCare Sector of Dart & Kraft, Inc., and held management positions
with Baxter Healthcare, C.R. Bard, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson. Before
entering business Sullivan served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an
infantry company commander. He received his B.S. in Education and
Political Science from the University of Dayton and M.B.A. from Rutgers
University. Steve has served on several private and public boards and
has held faculty positions at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management
at Northwestern University and the Lake Forest Graduate School of
Management. Steve and his wife, Barbara have five children ranging from
nine to twenty. His personal interests include reading, running,
mountain climbing, the Civil War and the study of leadership.
