Peter G. Tombros

PETER G. TOMBROS has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of
Enzon, Inc. and a member of the Board of Directors since April, 1994.
Prior to joining Enzon, Trombros spent 25 years with Pfizer, Inc., a
research based, global healthcare company headquartered in New York
City. From 1986 to 1994, he served as a Vice President of Pfizer Inc. in
the following areas: Executive Vice President of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals,
a division of Pfizer Inc., corporate strategic planning and investor
relations. From 1980 to 1986, Tombros served as Senior Vice President of
Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and general manager for the Roerig division of
Pfizer Inc. Tombros joined Pfizer as a marketing assistant in 1968 after
graduating from the Wharton Graduate School of Business. He was
appointed to a number of marketing positions of increasing
responsibility including Vice President of marketing for Pfizer
Laboratories, the company’s largest U.S. pharmaceutical division, which
he held from 1975 to 1980. Currently, Mr. Tombros serves on the Board of
Directors of ALPHARMA Inc., a Norwegian company specializing in the
areas of animal health, pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals, the New
Jersey Technology Council, the Biotechnology Industry Organization of
New Jersey and the American Foundation of Pharmaceutical Education,
where he served as Chairman for three years. He also serves on the Board
of Trustees of Cancer Care, the National Cancer Care Foundation,
Dominican College and Fisk University. Tombros earned his MBA from the
Wharton Graduate School of Business of the University Pennsylvania and
holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the
Pennsylvania State University.
