Michael Cunningham

MICHAEL CUNNINGHAM is Chairman and CEO of Cunningham Graphics
International, Inc. He attended the University of Massachusetts in
Amherst, and majored in Business Administration. After graduating, Mr.
Cunningham broke with his family’s tradition of civil service and
started selling printing for a downtown Manhattan printing company.
During the next two years, Mr. Cunningham built a solid reputation on
service, specializing in religious and financial printing. To satisfy
the needs and capacity requirements of his customers, he started to
represent an additional printing company. At the same time, in September
of 1983, he opened Cunningham Graphics International, Inc., as a
printing brokerage. Over the next six years Mr. Cunningham was top
salesman for both firms and sold over $48,000,000 worth of printing,
ranging from overnight research reports for financial institutions to
high quality annual reports. In an effort to control cost and quality,
he opened up his own manufacturing plant in 1989. Starting with a 40-
inch, four-color press and 11 employees, Cunningham Graphics
International Inc., has grown to a complete web, sheet-fed and digital
printing company. Hosting three shifts and now employing over 800
people, CGII has grown to be one of the largest printing companies in
the world. In April, 1997 the company completed a successful public
offering and continues its growth through acquisitions and
consolidations. Michael Cunningham holds a Master’s degree in Graphic
Communications, Management & Technology from New York University.
Currently, Mr. Cunningham is an Adjunct Professor, teaching Quality
Control at NYU and was appointed to the Board in 1996.
