John J. McArdle

JOHN J. MCARDLE III has been Chief Executive Officer of MetroWest Bank
since 1993. His career in banking dates back to 1976, when he was
employed in the commercial lending area of The First National Bank of
Boston. Following that, Mr. McArdle became an employee of Prime Capital
Group of Dover, New Hampshire, a company owned by Theodore S. Valpey,
Jr., current Chairman of the Board of Directors of MetroWest Bank. While
at Prime Capital, Mr. McArdle was involved with financial institutions,
real estate investments and manufacturing companies. Mr. McArdle joined
MetroWest Bank in 1990, when he and Mr. Valpey purchased a significant
interest in the bank, then known as Framingham Savings Bank. Initially,
Mr. McArdle’s function was as a consultant, assisting with loan
administration, workouts and the management and disposition of a bank-
owned real estate portfolio. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. McArdle also served
as President of the bank. Mr. McArdle holds a Bachelor’s degree from
Denison University, a Master’s degree from Tufts University and an MBA
from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a
Director of First Financial Trust, NA of Framingham and also serves as a
Director and Secretary of MATEC Corporation of Hopkinton, MA.
