Edward J. Fritsch

EDWARD J. FRITSCH is President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of
Highwoods Properties, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange listed REIT with a
total market capitalization at December 31, 2004 of $3.7 billion. Mr.
Fritsch also serves as Chairman of the Executive and Investment
Committees on the company’s Board of Directors. He joined Highwoods in
1982 and was a Partner in the predecessor company to the now publicly-
held firm. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His
past and present community involvement includes Board and committee
service for the Institute of Real Estate Management, Triangle Area
Office Building Association, YMCA of the Triangle, St. Francis of Assisi
School Board, Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis
Society, Trustee of St. Timothy’s Episcopal School, and the University
of North Carolina Board of Visitors.
