Charlotte G. Fischer

CHARLOTTE G. FISCHER is Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer
of Paul Harris Stores, Inc. Ms. Fischer has served in this capacity
since February 1995. A native of Hagerstown, Maryland, Fischer earned a
Bachelor’s degree in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University,
Richmond, Virginia in 1971. Fischer has over 28 years of extensive
retail experience. Ms. Fischer previously held the position of president
and chief executive officer of Claire’s Boutiques from 1986 to 1991. She
joined Claire’s as a vice president and general merchandise manager in
April of 1986 and became president and chief operating officer in
October of 1986. During her tenure, she oversaw the rapid growth and
expansion of this chain, growing from 200 stores in 1986 to over 1,100
stores in 1991. Ms. Fischer also created and ran her own business,
Hearts International, a specialty gift store and founded CGF Inc., a
retail consulting business. Ms. Fischer currently serves on the board of
numerous not-for-profit organization. As well as The Greater
Indiannapolis Progress Committee, The Indiana Chamber of Commerce,
National City Bank of Indiana, The National Federation and Transworld
Entertainment Corp., Inc. She is listed in Who’s Who in American Women.
In 1998, Ms. Fischer was named a Sagamore of the Wabash. This award is
the highest honor a private citizen can receive from the Indiana
Governor. She also was honored by her alma mater, Virginia Commonwealth
University School of Business as a 1998 Alumni Star, and by Girls
Incorporated of Indianapolis as recipient of their prestigious
Touchstone Award, given for life-time achievement and commitment to the
issues of girls and young people. Ms. Fischer and her husband have two
daughters, and three grandchildren. The Fischers enjoy traveling,
entertaining, theater, and their two dogs, Humphrey and Bogart.
