DR. JOSEPH BELANOFF is co-founder and CEO of Corcept Therapeutics, Inc.
Dr. Belanoff is a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and
Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, and has also served as the
director of Psychopharmacology for the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs
Hospital. Dr. Belanoff graduated from Amherst College and subsequently
spent nine years on Wall Street managing the fixed income trading desks
and interest rate arbitrage programs at three securities firms.
Thereafter, Dr. Belanoff graduated from Columbia University's College of
Physicians and Surgeons, and then completed his psychiatry residency at
Stanford, as well as completing an NIMH fellowship researching aspects
of psychopharmacology and cognition. Profile
Therapeutics and a picture of what you're doing at the present time?
Dr. Belanoff: The impetus for the company was research that
