Daniel Binder is a Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst at Jefferies & Company, Inc., covering the broadline and hardline retail sectors. Mr. Binder joined the company in July 2007 and has up to 18 years of experience as an Equity Research Analyst. Prior to joining Jefferies & Company, Inc., Mr. Binder was with The Buckingham Research Group, where he spent over seven years as a Senior Vice President covering the broadline and hardline retail sectors. Prior to The Buckingham Research Group, Mr. Binder held an Equity Research Analyst position at Brown Brothers Harriman, where he spent nearly three years covering the broadline and hardline retail sectors. Mr. Binder began his career in retail equity research at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, where he spent two and a half years. Mr. Binder holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John's University, where he graduated with honors. Mr. Binder is a CFA charterholder. TWST: You viewed PetSmart’s softer comps as a surprise, given housing trends and pet adoption rates. To what do you attribute those softer comps?

Mr. Binder: There are
