Robert Batchelor – First Union National Bank

ROBERT BATCHELOR is a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager with Senior Investment Advisors, the investment management arm for the private client group of First Union's Capital Management Group. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and earned an MBA from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University in 1982. Upon graduation, Mr. Batchelor began work as a taxable fixed income security trader for the First national bank of South Carolina. After several years of trading, he joined a smaller brokerage company that later became part of Prudential Securities. As a financial advisor with Prudential, he marketed financial products and strategies to institutions. After developing an interest in the equity markets, Mr. Batchelor went to work for one of his bank clients. There his responsibilities included managing the bank's pension fund, three fixed income funds, and carrying a full account load of employee benefit, personal, and charitable accounts. He joined First Union in 1995 where he now manages more than $400mm for individuals, corporations, and retirement plans. Mr. Batchelor and his wife live in Charlotte, NC with two daughters. Profile
