WILLIAM E. RICH is President and Chief Executive Officer and has served
as a member of the Board of Directors of Ciphergen Biosystems, Inc.,
since its founding in 1994. Dr. Rich has a PhD in Chemistry from the
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and did post-doctoral
research in Biochemistry at Duke University. He was co-Founder of Dionex
Corporation and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sepracor.
He has extensive experience in the early stage development and general
