William H. Longfield – C.r. Bard Inc (bcr)

WILLIAM H. LONGFIELD has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of C. R. Bard, Inc., since September 1995 and was elected a Director in April 1990. Mr. Longfield joined C. R. Bard, Inc., in 1989 as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and was made its President in September 1991 and its Chief Executive Officer in June 1994. Prior to joining Bard, Mr. Longfield was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cambridge Group of Dallas, Texas, a company he founded to provide long-term healthcare services. Before that he was an officer and Director of Lifemark, Inc., an operator of hospitals. Mr. Longfield began his career with American Hospital Supply, Inc., in 1961, where he held numerous positions over his 23-year career there, including President of its Convertors Division. He is a member of the Board of Directors of AdvaMed (Advanced Medical Technology Association); Manor Care, Inc., a healthcare corporation; West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., a supplier of components for the healthcare and consumer products industries; Cytyc Corporation, which designs, develops, manufactures and markets sample preparation systems for medical diagnostics; and Horizon Health Corporation, a leading contract manager of mental health programs. Mr. Longfield is also a Trustee for the Health Care Institute of New Jersey and the Atlantic Health System of Summit, New Jersey, a regional not-for-profit hospital company. Mr. Longfield earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and a graduate degree in Management from Northwestern University. Profile
