Walter Rose – Gibraltar Packaging Group Inc (pack)

WALTER E. ROSE is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gibraltar Packaging Group, Inc. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1965 and completed the coursework for an MBA at New York University in 1971. He joined Rayonier, Inc., a specialty pulp and paper company, after his engineering degree, where he gained experience in operations, strategic planning and general management. He then joined Thomas Tilling, Inc. in 1979, a UK-based holding company that grew to $1.5 billion in sales in the US through acquisition, where he was a Group Executive. In 1982, Mr. Rose and John Strautnieks, an associate at Thomas Tilling, acquired one of the Thomas Tilling companies in a management buyout, which they sold three years later. They then purchased Great Plains Packaging, which changed its name to Gibraltar Packaging Group, Inc. and went public in 1991. They also purchased a group of industrial companies now consolidated into Rostra Technologies, Inc., which they privately own. Profile
