Venture Investing In Business Services: Devin Mathews – Great Hill Partners

DEVIN R. MATHEWS joined Great Hill Partners in 2000. He is a Principal and is responsible for originating and evaluating investment opportunities in the business services sector. His primary areas of focus are outsourcing, transaction processing and education. Prior to joining Great Hill Partners, he spent several years working in the venture capital and equity research industries. Most recently, he was an Associate with Gilde Investment Management, a private equity firm located in The Netherlands, where he focused on middle market transactions throughout Europe. He also worked at William Blair Capital Partners, a private equity firm in Chicago. At WBCP, he evaluated investments in the transaction processing and outsourcing industries. His investment experience included CARA Corporation (sold to Affiliated Computer Systems, NYSE: ACS); FlexiInternational Software (NASDAQ: FLXI); Harmonic Systems (sold to Alliance Data Systems, NYSE: ADS); MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONE); and MedE America (sold to WebMD, NASDAQ: HLTH). Prior to joining WBCP, Mr. Mathews was an Analyst in William Blair & Company's Equity Research department, where he followed the outsourcing and consumer software industries. He received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and he holds a BA in Art History from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
