STRATTON SCLAVOS joined VeriSign, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer in July of 1995. Under his leadership the company has quickly grown to become the leading provider of trusted infrastructure services to Websites, enterprises, electronic commerce service providers and individuals. The company's domain name, digital certificate and payment services provide the critical Web identity, authentication and transaction infrastructure that online businesses need to conduct secure e-commerce and communications. VeriSign has formed strategic relationships with many leading technology and information services companies including Microsoft, AOL/Netscape, Cisco, British Telecommunications, VISA and Dun & Bradstreet. Headquartered in Mountain View, California, VeriSign currently employs over 1500 professionals on a global basis. Prior to joining VeriSign, Mr. Sclavos held executive management positions with several leading Silicon Valley technology companies including Taligent, Inc., Go Corporation, MIPS Computer and Megatest Corporation.
