STEVEN RICHTER is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Weingarten Realty Investors. He is responsible for the financial
administration of the company including compliance with all securities
laws and investor relations. He joined WRI in 1980 as Accounting
Supervisor. He has held various positions including Controller and
Treasurer. He was later named to his current position in 2000. Prior to
joining WRI, Mr. Richter worked for BDO Seidman, a national accounting
firm. During his tenure with Seidman, he obtained his Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) designation. He graduated from Sam Houston University
with a BBA in Accounting. Mr. Richter is a member of the National
Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), currently serving
as co-chair of the Accounting Committee. He is also a past officer and
director of the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC). Profile
