Steven Bloom – Hsbc Asset Management

STEVEN BLOOM is Vice President and Senior Research Analyst/Portfolio Manager for HSBC Asset Management. He joined the US Equity team in June 2000 as a senior member of the portfolio management group. As head of the US Tech team, Mr. Bloom also helps manage the firm's global TMT Fund. He has responsibility for the telecommunications services and equipment, data networking, and semiconductors sectors. Mr. Bloom has 14 years of multi-industry research experience on the sell side. He worked for seven years at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, most recently as a Principal, covering various real estate sectors, including multifamily, lodging and specialty finance. The real estate investment trust (REIT) team ranked number one in the 1999 Greenwich Associates poll and placed runner-up in the 1999 Institutional Investor poll. Mr. Bloom previously held analytical positions at Prudential Securities (chemicals) and F. Rothschild (pharmaceuticals and technology). Mr. Bloom earned a BS degree in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University.
