Samuel Waksal – Imclone Systems Inc (imcl)

DR. SAMUEL WAKSAL is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ImClone Systems Incorporated. Dr. Waksal spent the first part of his career in academic medicine. From 1982 to 1985, he was a member of the faculty of Mt. Sinai School of Medicine as Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of the Division of Immunotherapy within the Department of Pathology. Dr. Waksal has served as visiting Investigator of the National Cancer Institute, Immunology Branch, Research Associate of the Department of Genetics, Stanford University Medical School, Assistant Professor of Pathology at Tufts University School of Medicine and Senior Scientist for the Tufts Cancer Research Center. Dr. Waksal was a scholar of the Leukemia Society of America from 1974 to 1984. Dr. Waksal has published over fifty articles and chapters in the field of Immunology. He has also helped found several biopharmaceutical companies including Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation, Cadus Pharmaceutical Corporation and Merlin Pharmaceutical Corporation. He sits on the boards of Cadus Pharmaceutical, Tribeca Pharmaceutical Corporation, Prototek II and Microbes Incorporated.
