Richard Johnson – Hotjobs.com Ltd (hotj)

RICHARD JOHNSON is President, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Hotjobs.com. Mr. Johnson has more than 13 years of experience in the executive search and recruiting industry. He is widely recognized as both a leading expert in the recruiting field and a pioneer in the Internet business world. Mr. Johnson's entrepreneurial successes date back to 1988 when he co-founded a specialized recruiting firm a firm that went on to become OTEC Inc., one of New York City's largest technical search firms. In 1995, Mr. Johnson created New Media Labs, a Silicon Alley-based research and development firm, to develop technology for the Internet. New Media Labs' first project was to develop the enabling technology that allowed 14 million Columbia House mail order members to shop securely online. At the time, the site was the largest transactional site in the world. By then, Mr. Johnson realized the significance of the Internet in the workplace. He oversaw the development of one of the first interactive job boards, which was used in-house by OTEC recruiters to manage their accounts on a real-time basis. By February 1996, the web site was launched as a separate company and HotJobs.com was established as the world's first truly interactive job board where companies could post job openings directly onto the World Wide Web. Mr. Johnson has a Bachelor's degree from Bucknell University and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management. He is one of the original members of New York's New Media Association and a frequent guest speaker at trade shows and technical conferences. Profile
