Peter S. Voss – Nvest Lp (nen)

PETER S. VOSS is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nvest, L.P. and Nvest Companies, L.P., a holding company for 18 investment subsidiaries and affiliates that offer a broad range of products and services to institutional and individual clients. The firm has $136 billion of assets under management as of June 30, 1999. Mr. Voss joined Nvest in October 1992, with the mandate to organize and capitalize the value of investment firms owned by the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company. In 1993, Nvest combined operations with publicly traded Reich & Tang, L.P. and became a master limited partnership traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Since it went public, Nvest has acquired affiliates headquartered in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Oakland, San Francisco, New York and Tokyo. Before joining Nvest, Mr. Voss was Group Executive Vice President of Bank of America, where he headed its U.S. and international investment management and private banking. Prior to that, he headed up the London-based merchant banking operations of Security Pacific Corporation and also served as Chief Executive Officer of Hoare Govett Companies, the corporation's equity operation in Europe and Southeast Asia. From 1985 to 1988, Mr. Voss was CEO of Security Pacific Investment Group. A graduate of Brown University, Mr. Voss serves on the Listed Company Advisory Committee of the New York Stock Exchange and on the Board of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay.
