MICHAEL E. CAMPBELL is the first Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Arch Chemicals, Inc., the global specialty chemicals company created in
early 1999 as a spinoff from Olin Corporation. A member of Arch
Chemicals' Leadership Team, Mr. Campbell has global management
responsibility for Arch's three business segments Water Chemicals,
Microelectronic Chemicals, and Performance Chemicals. Prior to his
election as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Campbell served as
Olin's Executive Vice President. In addition to overseeing the company's
global businesses, Mr. Campbell was extensively involved in major
strategic initiatives at the company, including the sale of its former
TDI business and the plan to spin off Olin's specialty chemicals
operations as Arch Chemicals. Mr. Campbell served during the mid-1990s
as President of Olin Microelectronic Materials. During his tenure as
president, the Division posted record sales and earnings as it satisfied
strong demand from global semiconductor manufacturers. He has also
served on a number of international joint venture boards, including
FUJIFILM OLIN, an electronic chemicals company headquartered in Japan,
and TriStar Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of snow skis with
facilities in Europe and the US. Mr. Campbell joined Olin in 1978 as
Counsel in the Chemicals Group's Legal Department, following his
association with the Howrey & Simon firm in Washington, DC. In 1981, he
was named Group Counsel for Olin's Consumer Products. The Consumer
Product businesses were consolidated into Chemicals in 1983 and he was
then appointed Group Counsel for the Chemicals Group. Three years later
he was named Vice President, Administration and assumed additional
responsibility for the Human Resource department in the Chemicals Group.
In 1987, Mr. Campbell was elected Corporate Vice President, Human
Resources, reporting to Olin's Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Campbell
received his Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire in
1968. Following service as a US Naval Officer, he earned a JD from
George Washington University in 1974. At law school, he was elected to
the Law Review and earned membership in the Order of the Coif, a legal
honor society. While with Olin, he attended the Yale Executive
Management Program. Mr. Campbell is Vice-Chairman of SACIA, the Business
Council of Southwestern Connecticut, and Chairman of the Corporate
Capital Campaign for the Maritime Aquarium. He also serves on the Board
