DR. MALCOLM L. GEFTER is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive
Officer of Praecis Pharmaceuticals Incorporated. He is Professor
Emeritus in the Department of Biology at MIT and is a recognized leader
in the field of molecular mechanisms of antibody diversity and cellular
recognition. Dr. Gefter is a successful entrepreneur who has founded
several biotechnology companies, such as ImmuLogic Pharmaceutical
Corporation and, most recently, Praecis Pharmaceuticals Incorporated.
Dr. Gefter received his BS in Chemistry from the University of Maryland
and his PhD in Molecular Biology from Albert Einstein College of
Medicine. During his scientific career, Dr. Gefter has published over
200 original scientific articles spanning the fields of molecular
