Jeffrey D. Modell – New Century Investment Mgmt Inc

JEFFREY D. MODELL is President and Portfolio Manager of New Century Investment Management, Incorporated, a boutique firm specializing in managing equity portfolios. He was born January 24, 1960, is married and has two children. Mr. Modell has a Bachelor of Business Administration with High Distinction from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1981); an accounting major, he passed the Uniform CPA examination. He also holds a Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1985), where he was elected to The Order of the Coif, and a Contributing Editor of the 'Michigan Law Review'. Mr. Modell was self- employed as a private investor from 1983 until organization of New Century in 1994. His credentials include silk stocking legal experience with the Washington D.C. tax law firm Ivins, Phillips & Barker Chartered (1985-1987) and Detroit regional legal powerhouse Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn (1987-1989), as well as private practice, simultaneous with some of the private investing. His legal experience include investment-related fields such as: estate planning for complex estates, trusts (including charitable trusts), corporate taxation, ERISA with emphasis on plan investments and fiduciary responsibility, due diligence and negotiation for investments, and environmental law.
