James Roos – Candlewood Hotel Company Inc (cndl)

JAMES E. ROOS is President and Chief Operating Officer of Candlewood Hotel Company, Inc., the Wichita, Kansas-based owner, developer and franchisor of value-oriented, business extended-stay hotels. With more than 20 years of experience, Mr. Roos has extensive knowledge and expertise in all areas of the hotel industry. Before joining Candlewood in June 1997, Mr. Roos was Executive Vice President of Posadas, USA, Inc., a division of Grupo Posadas, S.A. de C.V., the premier Latin American hotel company. Prior to his position at Posadas USA, Mr. Roos worked for more than 17 years in various positions for Holiday Inns, Inc. As Vice President of Operations for the Western Region from 1991 to 1993, he was responsible for a portfolio of hotels with combined revenues of $165 million. From 1987 to 1991, he was Vice President of Operations and Development for Hampton Inn, a division of Promus Companies/Holiday Inns, Inc., where he managed hotel services, franchise sales and service, and system quality standards. From 1981 to 1987, he was Director of Operations for the Holiday Corporation, a subsidiary of Holiday Inns, and managed the operations and marketing of a diverse hotel portfolio that included 25 full-service hotels throughout the Midwest.
