JAMES J. PETERSON became President and Chief Executive Officer of
Microsemi Corporation in November 2000. He joined the executive staff at
Microsemi in April 1999 when the Santa Ana, CA, semiconductor
manufacturer acquired Linfinity Microelectronics, Inc., Garden Grove,
CA, a manufacturer of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits. At
that time, Mr. Peterson was serving as President and Chief Operating
Officer of Linfinity, having been appointed to that position in February
1997. He continued in that capacity until his appointment to head the
Microsemi Corporation. Previously, Mr. Peterson rose to senior worldwide
marketing and sales management positions with Silicon Systems, Inc.,
where he served 11 years supporting mixed signal products for the mass
storage and communications markets. He also has held marketing
management positions with Rockwell Corporation, Newport Beach, CA, and
General Instruments Microelectronics, Long Island, NY. Mr. Peterson
holds a BA degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Brigham
