JAMES L. PACKARD is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive
Officer and President of Regal-Beloit Corporation. He joined
Regal-Beloit Corporation in 1979 and was elected President in
1980. He was elected Chief Executive Officer in 1984 and took on
the additional responsibilities as Chairman of the Board in April
1986. He was previously with PepsiCo, Inc. Mr. Packard is
currently a member of or serves on the following: Clarcor,
Rockford, Illinois, Board of Directors/Compensation Committee;
The Manitowoc Company, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Board of Directors;
First National Bank and Trust Company of Beloit, Wisconsin, Board
of Directors; Beloit College, Beloit, Wisconsin, Trustee;
Industrial Supply Machinery and Manufacturers Association, Board
of Directors; Baird Capital Partners, Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
Advisory Committee Member. Mr. Packard was previously on the
Board of Governors of the American Stock Exchange and served on
the Executive Committee, the Board Oversight Committee on
Specialist Unit Structure and the Listed Company Advisory
Committee. He was also a Listing and Hearing Review Council
member of NASDAQ; Director of the Cutting Tool Manufacturers
Association; Director and President of the United States Cutting
Tool Institute; Director of the American Gear Manufacturers
