Investing In Global Value Stocks – Amit Wadhwaney – Third Avenue Management, Llc

Amit Wadhwaney is a senior member of the investment team at Third Avenue Management, LLC. He manages the Third Avenue International Value Fund and is a portfolio manager for Third Avenue Management's private and institutional advisory business. Additionally, he is portfolio manager of Third Avenue Global Value Fund, LP, a private partnership investing in undervalued companies worldwide. He is a director of Catalyst Paper Corporation, a Canadian paper company. Previously, he was portfolio manager of the Carl Marks Global Value Fund, LP, the predecessor to Third Avenue Global Value Fund, LP Prior to that he was a principal of Glenrock Asset Management Associates, LP; both firms are investment partnerships investing worldwide. Earlier in his career, he was a securities analyst and subsequently Director of Research for M.J. Whitman, Inc. Prior to that he was a paper and forest products analyst at Bunting Warburg, a Canadian research-focused brokerage firm that served institutional clients. He began his career in the Corporate Planning Group of Domtar, Inc., a Canadian forest products producer. He spent 15 years there as a financial and business analyst focusing on the newsprint, pulp and fine paper industries. He received a BS degrees in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Minnesota, as well as a BA (Honors) with distinction and MA degree in Economics from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
