Sunderland, Amy Hu
Amy Hu Sunderland, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst at Grandeur Peak Global Advisors, LLC. Ms. Hu Sunderland is a Portfolio Manager of the Grandeur Peak Global Micro Cap Fund, Global Opportunities Fund and Global Reach Fund. She is also a Senior Research Analyst with a specialty focus on the consumer sector globally. Ms. Hu Sunderland plays a lead role in covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Ms. Hu Sunderland was a junior and later senior research analyst at Wasatch Advisors from 2003 to 2011. She was a general analyst on the Wasatch Small Cap Growth Fund (MUTF:WAAEX) and the Wasatch Micro Cap Fund (MUTF:WMICX), as well as a consumer sector specialist. Before Wasatch, Ms. Hu Sunderland worked on the Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management Team. Ms. Hu Sunderland graduated magna cum laude in the top 1% of her class from the University of Utah where she earned a B.S. in finance and business information systems. Ms. Hu Sunderland was selected as the Outstanding Finance Scholar of the Year by the dean and was a Coca-Cola Scholar. Ms. Hu Sunderland was born in China and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She moved to Salt Lake City at age 10, bought her first house at age 12 and built a successful real estate business. Ms. Hu Sunderland began investing in stocks at age 14 and has been a passionate investor ever since. Spencer Hackett is a global Research Analyst on the consumer industry team at Grandeur Peak Global Advisors, LLC. He is part of the Global Micro Cap team and plays a lead role in covering Japan. He is spending five months of 2016 living in Japan. Mr. Hackett joined Grandeur Peak Global Advisors in 2012. Mr. Hackett graduated from the University of Utah where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies with a business emphasis and a minor in Japanese. He lived in Japan from 2008 to 2010 and speaks Japanese fluently. Mr. Hackett was a two-year state-championship volleyball player, a state-championship football player and an all-state rugby player.
