GARY C. KELLY is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Southwest Airlines Co. He serves as the head of the finance department,
in charge of several offices: controller, treasurer, corporate
taxation, investor relations, financial planning and financial analysis.
Mr. Kelly started with Southwest Airlines in June 1986. Prior to working
at Southwest, he was Audit Manager for Arthur Young & Company in Dallas,
Texas. He also has worked in mainframe software development and as a
Controller for Systems Center, Inc., in Irving, Texas. Most recently, he
held the position of Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
for Southwest Airlines Co. Mr. Kelly received a BBA in Accounting from
the University of Texas at Austin. He also is a Certified Public

Mr. Kelly: Southwest is a maverick airline to this day. It's an airline
that started intra-Texas in 1971. We focused primarily on
