Exponential Demand Growth for the Data Center Space

Toti, David
David J. Toti, Managing Director, joined BB&T Capital Markets in June 2015 and follows the REITs sector. In StarMine’s 2015 Analyst Awards for Excellence, he was ranked number-two stock picker in the REITs category. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Toti spent a combined 13 years as a Senior REIT Analyst and Group Head at Cantor Fitzgerald and FBR Capital Markets & Co., and served as a Co-Coverage Analyst at Citi and Lehman Brothers. During that time, he covered all real estate asset classes, including office, retail, multifamily, industrial, data centers, storage and health care. Prior to his career in finance, Mr. Toti practiced as an architect for 10 years with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, working as a Senior Designer on projects, including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and the Manhattan headquarters of Bloomberg LP. Mr. Toti holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Syracuse University and received his MBA in real estate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Profile

Evan Smith, Vice President, joined BB&T Capital Markets in July 2015 and follows thea REIT sector. Prior to joining the firm, he spent a combined seven years as an Equity Research Analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald and FBR Capital Markets & Co. Mr. Smith has most recently focused on the data center, office, industrial and retail subsectors, and was instrumental in developing numerous quantitative analytic tools. Prior to covering real estate, he was a Research Assistant in the FBR Consumer Equity Research Group, researching consumer hardline retailers.
