Eric Mckissack – Ariel Mutual Funds

ERIC T. MCKISSACK serves as co-Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Capital Management, Inc. In this capacity, his primary responsibility is as Portfolio Manager of the $500 million Ariel Appreciaton Fund. Additionally, as Vice Chairman of the firm's Board of Directors, Mr. McKissack also shares in firmwide management and strategic planning issues. He earned a BS in both Management and Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. McKissack has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Prior to joining Ariel Capital Management, Inc., in 1986, he worked for five years as a Research Analyst for First Chicago. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Chicago's Urban Gateways. He also serves as Vice Chairman of Travelers & Immigrants Aid/Chicago Connections. In addition, he is a Board member of the Cook County Economic Development Advisory Committee, the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago, the Arts and Business Council of Chicago, and City Year Chicago. Mr. McKissack is also on the Advisory Committee of The Art Institute of Chicago, a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago and a member of Treasurer Topinka's Business Roundtable. He is well recognized in the investment field by being featured in articles of several publications and has made guest appearances on television programs and cable networks that include CNN, CNBC, and 'Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser' as well as 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'. Mr. McKissack has also spoken at a variety of universities and business conferences including: The University of Chicago, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Purdue University, the National Black MBA Association, the Association of Investment Management and Research, Morningstar's Mutual Fund Enterprise Conference and the International Association of Financial Planners Conference.
