Donald Yacktman – Yacktman Asset Management Company

DONALD A. YACKTMAN is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Yacktman Asset Management Co., which was founded in 1992. He manages the Yacktman Fund that commenced operations on July 6, 1992, and the Yacktman Focused Fund that was opened to investors on April 30, 1997. Prior to forming his present firm, Mr. Yacktman served for 10 years as the Senior Portfolio Manager at Selected Financial Services, Inc., Chicago. He joined Selected in 1982 from Stein Roe & Farnham, Chicago, where he had been Portfolio Manager since 1968 and a partner since 1972. While at Selected, Mr. Yacktman was the President and Portfolio Manager of the Selected American Shares mutual fund from January 1, 1983 to March 6, 1992. Morningstar named Donald Yacktman their 1991 'Portfolio Manager of the Year.' He received a similar award from the Mutual Fund Letter for 1992 as manager of The Yacktman Fund. Mr. Yacktman has also been featured in articles in many financial publications and has been a guest interviewee on Wall Street Week with Louis Ruykeyser, CNBC, the Dow Jones Investor Network and investment radio talk shows in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington DC. He earned a BS magna cum laude in Economics from The University of Utah and an MBA with distinction from Harvard University. Mr. Yacktman is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
