Communications Services: Vik Grover – Kaufman Brothers Lp

VIK GROVER is Managing Director of the equity research department of Kaufman Bros., L.P., covering wireline and wireless communications services, and is a partner in the firm. He is focusing on wireline carriers, including providers of international long-distance services, intergrated communications providers (ICPs), Internet and data service providers (ISPs), Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs), and incumbent LECs (ILECs). Key trends that bode well for this space include deregulation, technological innovation, and rising demand for bandwidth to support voice and data traffic growth in the US and abroad. In addition, he focuses on national wireless operators well positioned to benefit from the shift of voice minutes to wireless networks and growth in value-added applications based on 2.5G and 3G technology. Prior to joining KBRO in 1998, he was a technology research analyst at Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc., a regional investment bank located in the Southeast. He has also worked in the institutional equity sales group of Equitable Securities Corp. (now SunTrust) and as a buy-side analyst for a technology-oriented hedge fund. Mr. Grover performed his undergraduate studies at the University of California in San Diego, received an MS in Finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
