Christopher Kuebler – Covance Inc (cvd)

CHRISTOPHER A. KUEBLER President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Covance, Mr. Kuebler spearheaded the companys spin-off from Corning Incorporated in January of 1997 and created one of the worlds largest and most comprehensive contract drug development services companies. In 2000, the company had proforma revenues of $737 million, operations in more than 17 countries, and 7,100 employees worldwide. Mr. Kuebler joined Covance, formerly Corning Pharmaceutical Services, as the companys President and Chief Executive Officer in 1994. Under Mr. Kueblers leadership, the company has expanded geographically and operationally, enhanced its capabilities, and integrated its businesses around the world. Today, Covance offers its clients a broad array of services at points throughout the entire drug development process from preclinical testing through clinical trials management and periapproval studies. Prior to joining Covance, Mr. Kuebler spent nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry. From 1985 to 1994 he held positions of increasing responsibility at Abbott Laboratories in the companys domestic pharmaceutical division including Business Unit Director, Vice President of Marketing, and Vice President of Marketing and Sales. During his last two years at Abbott, he served as Corporate Vice President of Abbott Europe. Mr. Kuebler began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1975 in various sales and marketing management positions for E.R. Squibb and Sons, now part of Bristol-Myers Squibb. From 1984 to 1985, he worked at Monsanto Health Care as part of the companys pharmaceutical acquisition team. Mr. Kuebler has served as a board member of the National Pharmaceutical Council and a member of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association Marketing Steering Committee. He also served as a member of the advisory committee of PNC Bancorp. Mr. Kuebler, 47, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science from Florida State University.
