CEES VAN LEDE is the Chairman of the Board of Management of Akzo Nobel
NV. Prior to this, he was Deputy Chairman. Mr van Lede was Vice
President of UNICE (Union of Industrial and Employer's Confederations of
Europe) before joining Akzo Nobel, from 1991 to 1994. From 1984 to 1991
he was Chairman of Federation of Dutch Industries. Mr van Lede started
his career in Shell International Petroleum Company, and then joined
McKinsey & Company Management Consultants. Mr van Lede graduated from
INSEAD in 1967 and holds an MA in Law from the University of Leiden, in
