Brian Ferguson – Encana Corporation (eca)

BRIAN FERGUSON is Executive Vice President, Corporate Development at EnCana Corporation. He has executive responsibility for investor relations, corporate strategic planning, acquisitions and divestitures, corporate reserve assessment, and legal and corporate secretarial. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree, with distinction, from the University of Alberta in 1980. In addition, he completed the University of Western Ontario's Executive Management program in 1993. Mr. Ferguson's professional activities since 1984 have included various positions in the finance, communications and corporate secretarial areas and senior management positions at EnCana and Alberta Energy Company Ltd., a predecessor company of EnCana. From 1980-1984, he was employed at a national accounting firm where he worked in the audit, small business and insolvency departments. Some of Mr. Ferguson's key accomplishments include: strategic involvement in the merger of Alberta Energy Company and PanCanadian Energy Corporation; expansion of EnCana and predecessors shareholder base into the US; and key asset acquisitions and divestitures in Canada and the US.
