BERNARD LIAUTAUD is President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of
the Board of Business Objects. As such, he has direct responsibility
over all areas of the company, including operations, finance, product
engineering, marketing, and business development. Mr. Liautaud founded
Business Objects in 1990, and took the company public on NASDAQ in
September 1994, making it the first French software company listed in
the US. In January 1996 BusinessWeek named Mr. Liautaud as one of the
'Hot Entrepreneurs of the Year.' Prior to Business Objects, Mr. Liautaud
served as Director of Marketing for Oracle France. He also spent time
as a scientific attache for the French Embassy in Washington DC. Mr.
Liautaud has a Master's Degree in Engineering from Ecole Centrale
(France) and a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from Stanford
