A Multistrategy, Multimanager Approach To Investing – Medon A. Michaelides, G. Todd Silva & Keith Stoloff – Emerald Allocation

Medon A. Michaelides joined Emerald Allocation Strategies, LLC, in 2007 and manages the overall business development effort for EAS, which is the marketing arm of Emerald Asset Advisors. EAS promotes the firm's investment strategies and funds to other investment advisers, broker/dealers and institutions. Mr. Michaelides began his career in the investment management field with Chase Asset Management, a former division of The Chase Manhattan Bank, which served as the subadviser to the Vista family of mutual funds. Since that time, Mr. Michaelides worked in various institutional sales/marketing and fundraising roles across the alternative investment space, including private equity placements at J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc., and hedge fund-of-funds sales at two independent investment firms. Mr. Michaelides earned a B.S. in psychology and political science from Union College in 1992 and an international MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina/Vienna University of Economics and Business in 1998.G. Todd Silva, Senior Portfolio Manager, joined Emerald Allocation Strategies, LLC, in 2010 and has more than 20 years of investment experience. His areas of expertise span portfolio management, financial analysis - including credit and equity - valuation, research/diligence and corporate actions such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spinoffs and balance sheet recapitalizations. Over the span of his career, Mr. Silva worked as a Portfolio Manager for institutional accounts and mutual funds for several large institutional fund management companies in New York, including John A. Levin & Co., Jennison Associates LLC and Scudder Investments. He also served as an Analyst covering a variety of industries. Mr. Silva worked in the hedge fund industry beginning in 2000, when he cofounded Candlewood Capital Management LLC and comanaged the Candlewood funds, long/short equity funds with peak assets of $1 billion. At Candlewood, he focused on deep-value, special situations and turnaround investing. He also advised investee management teams on ways to maximize value for shareholders. Before joining Emerald, Mr. Silva worked for a multistrategy hedge fund-of-funds management firm, and he also has consulted for private companies and for the Office of the State Attorney, Economic Crime Unit in Florida. Mr. Silva received his B.S. in economics and finance from Lehigh University and his MBA from the Columbia Business School.Keith Stoloff, Senior Portfolio Manager, joined Emerald Allocation Strategies, LLC, in 2007 and has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry. Before joining Emerald, he held portfolio management and financial advisory roles at Raymond James & Associates, Inc.; J.B. Hanauer & Co.; Great Western Financial Securities, Inc.; and Citicorp Investments. Mr. Stoloff holds many professional designations, including Certified Investment Management Analyst, Certified Investment Management Consultant, Certified Private Wealth Advisor, Accredited Wealth Management Advisor, Accredited Asset Management Specialist, Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor and Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor.
